# Log In and Sign Up with a One-Time Code, Not a Password

Dayworkbook no longer uses passwords. When you sign up or log in on the Web App or Mobile App, you enter your email address and Dayworkbook emails you a one-time passcode (OTP). Enter the code to finish signing up or to get into your account. The one-time code is now the only way to sign up or log in.

### **Before You Start**
**Prerequisites**:
None — this is your starting point when setting up a new organisation in Dayworkbook.
**You'll Need**:
- The Dayworkbook Web App, or the latest version of the Dayworkbook Mobile App
- Access to the email inbox for your Dayworkbook account
🎯 **Key Point:** You no longer need your password. You can't use it to log in to the Web App or Mobile App anymore.
### **Step-by-Step Instructions**
#### **Step 1: Log In with a One-Time Code**
1. Open the Dayworkbook Web App or Mobile App
2. Enter the email address for your Dayworkbook account
3. Click or tap Login
4. Check your email for your one-time code
5. Enter the code and click enter
6. Once the code is verified, you're logged in to your account

#### **Step 2: Sign Up with a One-Time Code**
1. Open the Dayworkbook Web App or Mobile App and go to the sign-up screen
2. Enter your email address and click or tap **Start Your Free Trial**
3. Check your email for your one-time code
4. Enter the code to verify your email
5. Continue setting up your account as before. Your account is set up the same way as before, including your free trial.
💡 **Pro Tip:** Codes only last for a limited time (10 minutes) . Enter yours soon after it arrives.
### **Troubleshooting Common Issues**
**Problem:** My code hasn't arrived
**Cause:** The email may be delayed or filtered
**Solution:** Check your junk or spam folder. Then use the resend option on the code entry screen to get a new code.
**Problem:** I'm told my code is incorrect or expired
**Cause:** The code was mistyped, or it was entered after it expired
**Solution:** Check the code and try again. If it has expired, resend it to get a new code.
